A chimenea is a freestanding front-loading fireplace or oven with a bulbous body and usually a vertical smoke vent or chimney. These original chiminea firepots are handmade from volcanic clay only found in central Mexico. These factories are normally found in small mountainous villages with a couple of families running them. No modern equipment is used and are still manufactured as they where 100 years ago. Every Chiminea comes complete with an original stand also Mexican manufactured.

The huge homemade kilns used to bake the chimineas produce a lot of heat making the working conditions almost unbearable. Roots are collected and crushed and the moisture obtained is used to dye the chimineas their different colors. Being handmade no fire pot looks exactly the same but every single one is inspected before being baked. There are, however, different models to choose from.
